Holiday Wrap Up!

Hi there everyone! I'm back after a two week holiday hiatus. If you follow me on Facebook you'd see it wasn't so much of a break; I was up to my elbows in trout dip and candy cane cookies. After all the eating (there was SO much eating, I know people say that but I mean it), I came away with some spectacular foodie gifts and found my new addiction #somuchforresolutions. Now, let's talk about some of the new additions to my kitchen. Every year my aunt buys my parents a cookbook. Every year I steal said cookbook from my parents. In order to remedy this my aunt gifted me with my own copy this year, hooray! There was also a rectangular present that I thought might be pottery (my aunt is a genius at the pottery wheel) but it was too light. Once the tissue paper was discarded, a handsome wooden serving board lay before me.

It was once part of a wine barrel from Silver Coast Winery in North Carolina and since turned into a serving platter. I love recycled/reclaimed pieces and can't wait to drape some charcuterie and cheese over this guy on New Year's Eve!

My other aunt/uncle/cousins went for a multi-piece gift this year from Crate and Barrel (I guess barrel was the theme this year); all the perfect pieces for someone that hosts as often as I do. There were these metallic polka dotted wine glasses and classic coasters.

A hostess can never have too many coasters!

The last little bundle included these adorable appetizer plates. The front of each plate had a modern illustration of  a specific drink and the recipe on the back.

They don't have these particular plates online anymore but they do have a set of summer beverages that are equally as cute. And who doesn't love a good margarita?

The last thing I leave you with today is a gift from me to you. Go to Trader Joe's and get the new Sweet Sriracha Uncured Bacon Jerky. As you can see I have three bags below,

Guess how many are left?

None. Not a single spicy slab.

You're welcome :)

Until the next dish, ciao!
